never land, eden court theatre

A play by Morna Young. Directed by Jimmy Yuill.

A teenager lies in a coma after a near fatal car accident. Her broken body is hooked up to machines to keep her alive. She wakes in a cold, dark place - in the shadowy realm between life and death, a surreal land free from the usual constraints of time and space...

"Never Land" is the outcome of an Eden Court project dedicated to developing the production of theatre in the Highlands. The production specifically sought out actors from the Highlands who had graduated in the past five years and gave them the opportunity to work alongside established artists.

"Never Land" opened at The Beacon Arts Centre before touring Scotland. The original cast included: Benny Young, Fiona MacNeil, Rebecca Wilkie, Ewan Petrie and Chris Beaton.

descent, a play, a pie & a pint

Presented by the Traverse Theatre, in association with Luminate: Scotland’s creative ageing festival

What makes you ‘you’?

What makes you love someone?

And is it possible to hold onto it all when everything you share begins to disappear? … or are you just clinging to the ghost of what used to be?

Descent explores one couple’s struggle to keep their love alive in the face of the raging force of dementia.  It takes an unflinching look at the guilt, the anger, and the despair they’re going through.  But it also celebrates the courage, the love, the acceptance, and – even – the hope that they bring to the fight.

Descent was nominated for two CAT'S awards, and won a Spirit of the Fringe award after a run at the Edinburgh Festival.
